Jim: You guys were on Charged for a while. How did you meet Jake?
SB: There was a last minute house party in Chicago. The Casualties just needed a show really bad. I think they were broke at the time, surprisingly enough. So Josh and another friend got them a show two days before and made hundreds of fliers. So the show was in an apartment building like twice the size of this, and there were 250 people. We were a cover band back then. We had just two songs of our own. We had just started and we were playing all punk rock covers. So Jake glanced in the room while we were playing and saw a bunch of people jumping around. Then later I said what’s up to him and he said that we should send a demo to the label. So we recorded this total piece of shit with this guy for $60 but we only had $40. It was bad news. For some reason he picked it up. It was like six songs. We wrote the other four on the way to record. We’re good at that. I often write lyrics on the way to places. I think that’s a good way to do it.
Josh: Don’t put any thought behind it.
Max: Fuck thought.
Jim: Have you ever been arrested?
Max: Yes.
Ugly: Yes.
Rick: Yes.
Jordan: No.
Rick: Wow Jordan, you’ve never been arrested? What are you doing in this band?
Caryn: So what did you do?
Max: I’m not talking about that.
